Jeri L. Wisher, 64, of Washington, died at 9:20 p.m. Saturday, Aug. 16, 2008, at Washington Christian Village.

Born Sept. 4, 1943, in Olney, to Alfred Rhodell and Gladys Chaplin Sterchi, she married Brian D. Wisher Aug. 16, 1969, in Olney. He survives.

Also surviving are one son, Kyle (Brooke) Wisher of Washington; two grandsons; her mother, Gladys Sterchi of Olney; two brothers, Tom (Mary Michael) Sterchi of Kansas City, Kan., and Ron (Tesa) Sterchi of Columbia, Mo.; and one sister Jackie (Mike) Doughtery of Glenwood Springs, Colo.

She was preceded in death by her father.

She was an Eastern Illinois University graduate, where she received her bachelor’s degree.

She was a business education teacher, working at Illinois Central College in East Peoria for 17 years, the athletic department at Bradley University in Peoria for three years and then for District 186 in Springfield until 2002.

She was a member of the Illinois Education Association, the National Education Association and Crossroads United Methodist Church in Washington.

Services will be at 10 a.m. Friday at Deiters Funeral Home in Washington. Brian’s college friend, the Rev. Kathy Frus will officiate.

Visitation will be from 5-7 p.m. Thursday at the funeral home.

Burial will be in Glendale Cemetery in Washington.
