Shirley R. Ogborn, 81, of Washington, died at 11:37 p.m. Monday, Aug. 4, 2008, at OSF Saint Francis Medical Center in Peoria.

Born Feb. 13, 1927, in Washington to Harry and Katie Thewlis Kelso, she married Melvin Ogborn in Mound City May 4, 1946. He died Jan. 1, 1984, in Washington.

Also preceding her in death were nine brothers and sisters.

Surviving are six sons, Jerry (Martie) Ogborn of Mackinaw, Gary Ogborn and Steve Ogborn, both of Peoria, Brad (Denise) Ogborn of Washington, Mike Ogborn of Jacksonville, Fla., and Brian (Desebel) Ogborn of Guam; one daughter, Theresa Garlotte of Peoria Heights; two sisters, Berniece Brown of Moberly, Mo., and Naomi Hutchcraft of Sikeston, Mo.; one brother, Dick (Bert) Kelso of Brownsville, Texas; 13 grandchildren; and five great grandchildren.

Services will be at 3 p.m. Saturday at Mason-White Funeral Home in Washington. The Rev. Alice Gwin will officiate. Burial will be in Parkview Cemetery in Peoria.

Visitation will be one hour prior to services.
