PEORIA — Edith I. Traub, age 99, of Peoria, passed away on Thursday, Jan. 5, 2017, at Grace Place in Hendersonville, Tenn.
She was born on July 16, 1917, in Metamora, Ill., to Henry and Cordelia (Gudeman) Leman. She married Simon Traub on Nov. 24, 1938, in Francesville, Ind. He preceded her in death in September of 1999. Also preceding her in death are three brothers, Arthur, Edward and Harold Leman and three sisters, Lois and Frances Leman and Elsie Eilers.
Surviving are her daughters, Carol (John) Wendt of Nashville, Tenn., Bev (Mike) Maurer of Christiana, Tenn. and Elaine (Dick) Pyle of Elkhart, Ind.; five granddaughters; seven great-grandchildren; and two brothers, Sidney and Melvin Leman.
Edith was a member of the Apostolic Christian Church in Peoria.
Funeral services will be held on Monday, Jan. 16, 2017, at 10 a.m. at the Apostolic Christian Church in Peoria with visitation held from 9 a.m. to 9:45 a.m. also at the church. The church ministers will officiate. Visitation will also be held on Sunday, Jan. 15, 2016 from 3 p.m. to 5 p.m. at The Wilton Mortuary in Peoria.
