Washington, Ill. -

Within hours of tickets going on sale, the 600 seats in the auditorium and the 420 banquet seats available were sold out for Sarah Palin’s appearance. There are, however, still tickets available for the private reception at $5,000 per couple.

Banquet tickets for Palin’s speech went on sale for $200 each Monday at noon and were sold out by about 9 a.m. Tuesday.

The 600 keynote address-only auditorium seats were sold for $100 each on the main floor and $75 each in the balcony. They went on sale yesterday at noon and were sold out by about 2:15 p.m.

The event has also garnered 12 couples as sponsors so far at $5,000 each. These sponsors will be able to meet with Palin at a private reception prior to dinner.

Washington Area Community Center board president, Sherril West, said the reception will be limited to 50 people.

According to Five Points staff, about $4,500 of the $5,000 reception tickets is tax-deductible because it goes to the Washington Area Community Center, a 501(C)(3) non-profit organization.

Five Points staff said they are still receiving a large number of calls for the keynote address and the banquet. They are keeping a waiting list in case anyone who bought tickets online in the past two days has extra seats available.
