Thornburg sentenced to 21 months in prison

David Thornburg of Washington was sentenced to 21 months in prison at a hearing today at the Federal Courthouse in Peoria.
In addition, he was sentenced to a three-year term of supervised release.
The judge also ordered him to pay $116,791.56 in restitution.
Thornburg, 46, pleaded guilty to defrauding various area real estate companies of more than $174,000 from fall 2006 through February 2008 while in court Sept. 4, 2009.
Those companies defrauded included Gallery Land Group, Titanium Development Group, Titanium Investment Properties, Panther Creek Development Group, Gallery Homes of Washington and Mallard Crossing.
“I was a partner in several companies and endorsed company checks or debited money and put it into my personal account. I also intercepted third party checks and endorsed and deposited them,” Thornburg said in court Sept. 4.
The Washington Police Department said the investigation had been ongoing for about 18 months before Thornburg was formally charged.
