Bob Aarestad of Washington was named the student of the month of August at Midwest Technical Institute in East Peoria.
Aarestad graduated from Washington Community High School in 2003. He received an associate’s degree in automotive technology from Illinois Central College in 2005 and went on to receive his bachelor’s degree in physical education from Illinois State University in 2010.
He is currently enrolled in the massage therapy program at MTI and will graduate in December.
He is currently a personal trainer at Five Points in Washington and is a member of the American Fitness and Aerobics Association.
Aarestad said his goal is to establish a successful career in all aspects of health and wellness.
