The Dragons defeated visiting Peoria Christian 2-0 Thursday at Coal Miners Park, their third straight shutout.
Andrew Geier (41:16) and Josh Brown (64:37) scored in the second half for Pekin (4-11-1) against Peoria Christian. Ethan Sandoval assisted on Geier’s goal.
Pekin goalie Jon Haller made a dozen saves. He also was in the nets for the Dragons’ scoreless tie Tuesday with Metamora and 9-0 win Wednesday over Olympia.

“Our guys have bought into a system that keeps our top players on the field longer while keeping possession of the ball,” said Pekin coach Gus Kormah.
VOLLEYBALL: The Pekin volleyball team will head into Saturday’s Pekin Invitational tournament with three losses in four matches.
Dunlap outlasted the host Dragons 25-17, 20-25, 25-22 Thursday in Hawkins Gym in a Mid-Illini Conference match.
“We’ve had trouble with consistency all season, so we’re continuing to work on finding the right lineup,” said Pekin coach Yvonne Thompson. “We’re still working out the kinks, even though I thought we played better (Thursday) than we did Tuesday when we lost to Limestone.”
Emma Clark (13 kills), Logan Finneran (22 assists), Briona Beckham (17 digs), Anna McGovern (three blocks) and Olivia Evans (three aces) were Pekin’s statistical leaders against Dunlap.
Thompson said Tristen Hess came off the bench and did a good job setting for the Dragons (13-5-1, 5-3).
GIRLS SWIMMING: Normal West beat the Pekin girls swimming and diving team Thursday in the Dragons’ pool. No score was reported.
“Normal West is a tough team. We saw them win the championship last weekend at the Raider Invitational in Bloomington,” said Pekin coach Christine Dunn. “Some of our swimmers got to swim events (Thursday) they normally don’t swim and swam personal-bests.”
Pekin’s Kelen McDaniels won the 50 freestyle (:25.45) and 100 breaststroke (1:14.64) against Normal West. Jaidlyn Sellers of the Dragons won the 200 freestyle (2:10.02).
