Tech Tuesday

Make an appointment at the Pekin Public Library from 9:15 a.m. to 7:15 p.m. on Tuesday, June 26, for a half hour one-on-one tutoring session to answer basic tech questions such as:  Making an email account; searching the internet; using a new device; downloading an eBook, using PowerPoint, etc.  Just let us know in advance what topic you would like to discuss. Planting the Spanish Seed Storytime

This interactive program will introduce children ages 3-7 and their caregiver to español through books, songs, and activities at 12:30 p.m. on Tuesday, June 26, at the Pekin Public Library. STEAM Adventures

In STEAM Adventures, children in grades 3-6 investigate topics in the areas of Science, Technology, Engineering, Art and Mathematics at the Pekin Public Library. How to Get Hired by the State of Illinois

The State of Illinois is seeking candidates to fill multiple positions in multiple agencies.  This workshop from 1 to 4 p.m. on Tuesday, June 26, at the Pekin Public Library, provides an overview of employment opportunities, application criteria and hiring procedures.  The workshop will include information on: successful search strategies for commonly hired State positions; a better understanding of the State application process; translating your life experience in an effective CMS100 application; tips for preparing for State testing and interviewing; and a Question and Answer session.  This workshop is free and open to the public.  For more information, please go to www.pekinpubliclibrary.org.

Off the Hook Knitting and Crochet Group

Knitters and crocheters of all experience levels are welcome to join us at this fun, informal group at 6:00 p.m. on Wednesday, June 27 at the Pekin Public Library. Happy Baby Yoga

Join us at the Pekin Public Library at 6:30 p.m. on June 27 for Happy Baby Yoga.  Holli Green, yoga instructor from Parkside Athletics, leads a mommy and baby yoga class that teaches techniques in gentle breathing and stretching, which can aid in babies’ digestion.  This class is for infants 3½ - 18 months old.  For more information, please call the library’s Youth Services Department at 347-7111 ext. 3.

The Fun Factory starring, Steve Parker, will be full of comedy, magic and ventriloquism at 2:00 p.m. on Thursday, June 28 at the Pekin Public Library. Through the magic of reading, great adventures will be encountered that young people of all ages will enjoy.

Great Decisions ‘Russia’s Foreign Policy’
