Traffic citations have been issued to the woman who allegedly caused the fiery crash that killed two men on Manito Road last week.

Lucy Kathleen Goldring, 70, of rural Manito, was cited Monday with improper lane usage and failure to reduce speed to avoid an accident. Her court appearance was set for Dec. 8.

The head-on collision on Nov. 8 killed Thomas Williamson, 58, of Tremont and Austin MacEwan, 19, of Pekin as they were returning home from hunting.

Goldring told authorities she was momentarily distracted as she drove south on a curve in the road near Spring Lake School. Her pickup veered into the northbound lane, striking the pickup Williamson drove.

The fatal victims were pronounced dead at the scene. Goldring, whom witnesses pulled from her vehicle, was listed in fair condition at a Peoria hospital a day after the crash.
