A former Pekin man will serve at least 36 years in prison for sexually assaulting one pre-teen girl last year and abusing another beginning nine years ago.
Dale Lucht, 32, reportedly wept through a court hearing Friday in which he pleaded guilty in the separate cases, both filed earlier this year in Tazewell County Circuit Court. He must serve at least 85 percent of his combined 43-year term.
Lucht, whose last listed address was in Bartonville, received 38 years on three counts of predatory criminal sexual assault of a girl under age 13 over 15 months until October 2016. Those charges were filed last March.
Five more years came with his guilty pleas to three counts of predatory criminal sexual abuse of another young girl that he committed over three years beginning in June 2008. He was indicted in August on those charges.
Lucht could remain incarcerated beyond his sentence if a psychological evaluation determines him to be a sexually dangerous person under state law.
