A second member of a ring suspected of committing about a dozen burglaries in Tazewell County last year will serve 10 weekends in jail and two years of probation.


Daniel Campbell, 32, of North Pekin, pleaded guilty Monday to stealing a welder and other equipment from a Morton storage business unit in April 2016.


He and William Sommerville, 26, of Creve Coeur, joined two others in burglaries that generally targeted appliances and other metal objects to sell for scrap, police said. A 16-year-old youth was prosecuted in juvenile court and charges have net been filed against a third man.
