1931 - 2016

Mary L. Mandrell, 85, of Pekin, passed away Thursday evening, Dec. 8, 2016, at UnityPoint Health-Methodist Hospital in Peoria, surrounded by her loving family.

She was born Jan. 31, 1931, in Benton, Ill., to Oscar and Mary Dorris West. She married Jack Mandrell Aug. 14, 1948, in Benton. He preceded her in death Sept. 18, 2016, in Peoria.

She was also preceded in death by one brother, Joe West; and one sister, Fern Brantley.

She is survived by five children, Stanley (Judith) Mandrell of Pekin, Vickie (David) Masters of Dahinda, Cary (Megan) Mandrell of East Peoria, Sheila (Bill) Farris and Sonia (Kenny) Jones, both of Pekin. She has 10 grandchildren, 15 great-grandchildren and one great-great-grandson surviving. She also has one brother, Johnnie (Margaret) West; and one sister, Ruth Ann Owens both of Benton.

Mary was a charter member of the Liberty Baptist Church in Pekin since 1953, where she was a church secretary for 16 years and enjoyed her church family very much. She loved attending family sporting events over the years for her children and grandchildren. She was an avid Cardinal fan.

Funeral services will be at 10:30 a.m. Tuesday, Dec. 13, at Liberty Baptist Church in Pekin. The Rev. Roger Lipe will officiate.

Visitation will be from 5 to 7 p.m. Monday at Davison-Fulton-Woolsey Funeral Home in Pekin, and 30 minutes prior at the church Tuesday.

Burial will be in Lakeview Cemetery.
