Alice A. Renner, 89, of Pekin, passed away at 2:05 p.m. Tuesday, Dec. 6, 2016, at her home.
Alice was born Jan. 27, 1927, to William and Elise May Hamilton Davis in Lenoir City, Tenn. She married Clovis Renner June 25, 1946, in Lenoir City, Tenn.
Preceding her in death were her parents; her husband, Clovis; one daughter, Carol Ann Renner; one brother, Cecil Davis; and two sisters, Audrey Williams and Ruth Johnson-Clark.
She is survived by one son, Eric (Teri) Renner of Tumbling Shoals, Ark.; two daughters, Janet (Dennis) Reed of Henry and Karen (Nick) Goloff of Secor; two grandchildren; two step-grandchildren; four great-grandchildren; and four step-great-grandchildren.
Alice was co-owner and administrator of Renner Plumbing in Pekin with her husband. She was very proud that she learned to play the piano late in life. She loved to read and enjoyed working crossword and jigsaw puzzles.
Alice loved nature, especially birds. She often went fishing and camping. She loved to laugh, smile and be helpful. She volunteered with meals on wheels, knitted caps for preemie babies at Pekin Hospital, loved quilting, donating quilts to the House of Hope. She was a member of Pekin Amvets Ladies Auxiliary.
Funeral services will be at 1:30 p.m. Friday, Dec. 9, at Henderson Funeral Home and Crematory in Pekin, with Bill Brown officiating. Visitation will be from 12 to 1:30 p.m. Friday at the funeral home.
Burial will be in Glendale Memorial Gardens.
