Why did you want to become a community blogger?

I realize that electronic communication and social media are the wave of the future. I have always had an interest in journalism and my community. I am also a veteran's advocate interested in veteran affairs and issues. This blog allows me to combine my interests.

What is your blog about?

The blog focuses on veterans and veteran interests, some may be national issues but most will focus on the Morton area.

Tell us a little bit about yourself.

I was born and raised on the Soutth Side of Peoria. I graduated from Manual High School in 1968. After a year of trade school, I enlisted in the Army in September of 1969. I served one year in Vietnam and 15 months in Germany. I am a service connected disabled veteran suffering from exposure to agent orange and PTSD.

I retired from the Postal Service after 33 yearas a letter carrier.

I moved to Morton in 1985 when I married my wife, Connie. I am the Post Adjutant and Service Officer for American Legion Post 318 in Morton. I am also the Commander for the 16th District of The American Legion Department of Illinois. I have been appointed to a position on The American Legion Legislative Council.
