WACC Board President Sherril West said, “While Mr. Robles’ accomplishments as a college athlete are certainly admirable, his story is one that should inspire all of us – no matter our age, physical limitations, or circumstances that life passes on to us.
"We certainly hope that adults of all ages looking to learn from others, parents and teachers looking for ways to inspire their children, and students with a variety of talents will take advantage of the opportunity to learn from Anthony – not about wrestling but about how to cultivate an attitude of excelling at what you chose to do no matter the obstacles you encounter. Anthony’s story and his 'unstoppable' attitude will be a special message for all of us.”
The vision of the series has been to bring up to two speakers each year to speak in the 1,000-seat Caterpillar Performing Arts Center at Five Points Washington. Former Governor of Alaska, Sarah Palin, appeared in 2010 and Coach Mike Ditka spoke in 2011.
Speakers are encouraged to talk about what leadership means to them, lessons they have learned, and the people and events that have shaped their lives.
The WACC strives to host a diverse group of dynamic speakers who have made a difference in their chosen fields and whose leadership philosophies can be applied to the lives of local audiences.
Leaders will be sought from all walks of life — business, public service, athletics, education and more.
