Washington Cherry Festival Friday and Saturday Schedule of Events

Friday, June 4

1-8:30 p.m. — Miller’s Petting Zoo open.

1-9 p.m. — Festival merchants tent open.

1-9 p.m. — Cherry beef brisket tacos served by First Baptist Church. A festival favorite!

1-10 p.m. — Carnival on the midway, food concessions open.

3-5 p.m. — OSF honor roll student check-in at the Cherry Pit.

5-9 p.m. — Cherry-Oke competition on the CEFCU main stage. Sponsored by the Washington Times-Reporter.

5-midnight — Festival beer garden open. Must be 21 with ID to enter.

9-9:15 p.m. — Mayor Gary Manier will announce this year’s Good Neighbor Award winner on the CEFCU main stage.

9:30-11:30 p.m. — Music on the CEFCU main stage by a disc jockey.

Saturday, June 5

7-11 a.m. — Rotary Club pancake sausage breakfast

7:30 a.m. — 5K Run and 1 Mile Fun Run/Walk begins at Five Points on Wilmor Road.

9 a.m.-8 p.m. — Festival merchants tent open.

10 a.m.-2 p.m. — Kids tractor pull by the water tower on Constitution Street

9-11 a.m. — Eight-mile family bike ride begins at the end of Mt. Vernon Street.

10 a.m.-10 p.m. — Carnival on the midway open. Armbands available for $20 for unlimited carnival rides

10 a.m. to 4 p.m. Food concessions open 11 a.m. to 10 p.m.

11 a.m.-dusk — Miller’s Petting Zoo open.10 a.m.-5 p.m. — Craft booths on Washington Square

11:30 a.m.-12:30 p.m. — Cherry pie eating contest on the CEFCU main stage. Contest is sponsored by Denhart’s Restaurant.

Noon-9 p.m. — Cherry beef brisket tacos served by First Baptist Church

Noon-midnight — Festival beer garden open. Must be 21 with ID to enter.

Noon — Baggo tournament begins in the beer festival garden. Registration is at 11:30 a.m. Must be 21 with ID to enter.

12:30-3:30 p.m. — Euchre tournament in the beer festival garden. Registration is at noon. Must be 21 with ID to enter.

1 p.m. — Horseshoe tournament in the beer festival garden. Must be 21 with ID to enter.

Noon-4 p.m. — Finger printing by the Washington Police Department and the Citizens Police Academy Alumni Association.

1-4 p.m. — Children’s events tent open.

1-2 p.m. — Cherry Dish Contest drop-off at Lori’s Kitchen Store on the Washington Square at 110 N. Main St. Judging starts at 2 p.m. with the winner announced at 6 p.m. on the CEFCU main stage.

1-1:30 p.m. — Cherry Pit Spit competition registration at the food tent with the competition beginning at

1:30 p.m. The competition is sponsored by State Farm and Roger Hickman.

1-2 p.m. — Amie’s Music Together demonstration on the CEFCU main stage.

2:30-3:30 p.m. — Lucas and Sarah Doremus will perform on the CEFCU main stage.

4:30-7:30 p.m. — Phoenix will perform on the CEFCU main stage.

6:30 p.m. — Baby photo contest and cherry dish contest winners will be announced on the CEFCU main stage.

8:30-11:30 p.m. — Checkered Past will perform on the CEFCU main stage.
