WASHINGTON — Clarence H. “Mickey” Brecklin, 81, of Washington died Saturday, Feb.15, 2014, at home.

Born Jan. 17, 1933, in Peoria to Otto and Mayme (Laudenkloss) Brecklin, he married Marilyn Streitmatter in Peoria on June 27, 1959.  She died Feb. 2, 1994, in East Peoria.

Surviving are three children, John (Sheena) of Wilmington, Thomas (Karen) of Washington and Sharon (Paul) Stoller of Indianapolis; one brother, Richard Brecklin of Peoria; one sister, Donna Hoover of Washington; 11 grandchildren; and one great-grandson.

He also was preceded in death by two brothers and four sisters.

He worked for Caterpillar Inc. for 30 years at East Peoria, retiring as a machinist in 1983.

He served in the U.S. Army and was stationed in Germany. 

He was a member of the American Legion and Veterans of Foreign Wars.  

He was a member of St. Patrick Catholic Church in Washington and also the Knights of Columbus.

A funeral mass was held Feb. 21 at St. Patrick Catholic Church and burial with military rites followed at Hillcrest Memory Gardens, south of Washington. Visitation and a rosary service was Feb. 20 at Mason-White Funeral Home.
