  • Blake Shelton, Reba McEntire and more of country music's biggest stars are uniting Wednesday night for a benefit concert to aid the victims of the Oklahoma tornado.
Healing in the Heartland: Relief Benefit Concert, which will air live at 9/8c on NBC, was organized by Shelton, who hails from the Sooner state.
"Everyone has their way to help, and mine as an entertainer is to perform to help raise money and awareness for this tragedy," Shelton said in a statement. "This is why I want to do this special and especially hold it in Oklahoma City, which is near ground zero."
Last week, tornadoes ripped through Oklahoma, Kansas, Illinois and Iowa leaving 26 people dead and 200 injured, including 70 children. The most powerful twister hit Moore, Okla. - a town outside of Oklahoma City. It destroyed a hospital and at least two schools. President Obama visited the site days later and announced that $3.4 million in compensation payments had already been approved and 4,200 people had applied for post-disaster assistance.
On the night following the Moore twister, Shelton and his wife Miranda Lambert performed a duet of "Over You" on The Voice results show, while a prompt for Red Cross donations ran at the bottom of the screen. Later that week he announced the benefit concert.
Performers will include Luke Bryan, Rascal Flatts, Darius Rucker, Vince Gill, One Republic's Ryan Tedder, Lambert and Shelton's fellow Voice coach, Usher.
