Bradley baseball clinic back Sept. 16

The WashingtonRecreation Association will kick off the 2012-13 baseball season with its third annual Bradley Braves baseball clinic, which is free.

On Sept. 16, Bradley head coach Elvis Dominguez and his Braves coaching staff and players will run a baseball clinic at the baseball diamonds at Washington Central Grade School.

This clinic is free and open to all WRA baseball players in third through eighth grades and will stress fundamentals in the areas of hitting, fielding, throwing, and baserunning.

Sign-ups for WRA 2013 travel baseball tryouts (8-and-under, 9-U, 10-U, 11-U, 12-U and 14-U) also will be held from noon to 5 p.m. during the clinic.

The clinic time slot for players in third through fifth grades will be noon to 2 p.m.

Players in sixth through eighth grades will attend from 3 to 5 p.m.

Attendees will receive personal instruction from the Bradley coaching staff and players.

Participants are required to wear baseball pants/hat and bring a baseball glove.

It is recommended that players bring a baseball bat, helmet and cleats if they have them.

The concession stand will be open and will sell water, Gatorade, soft drinks, Chicago brand quarter-pound hot dogs and popcorn.

All proceeds generated from concession sales will benefit the WRA.

Registration for the clinic is offered on a first-come, first-served basis and will continue until all spots are filled.

April 9 — in-house team draft

April 13 — WRA Drawdown fundraiser

April 29-May 20 — in-house baseball/softball clinics (four consecutive Mondays)

May 18 — WRA Baseball and Softball in-house Jamboree

May 28 — in-house baseball and softball seasons start

May 31-June 2 —8-U travel baseball tournament (Washington Park)

June 7-9 — 9-U and 11-U travel baseball tournament (Washington Park)

June-14-16 — Cobra Classic (Washington Park)

July 10 — end of regular season for in-house baseball and softball

July 11-14 — 10-U, 12-U and 14-U travel baseball tournament (Washington Park)

July 15-20 — in-house baseball and softball end-of-season tournaments.
