Ten years later

Some young people don’t remember the events of Sept. 11, 2001, but for most of us, we can still feel the pain and shock of that horrible day in history.

There are articles of towns across the country that will be holding ceremonies to honor those who lost their lives on that fateful day.

Washington will be no different. Every Sept. 11th, our city has had a walk to remember the day.

On Sunday September 11th, at 6 p.m. a short walk will be held in Washington Park starting by the tennis courts. There will be a short ceremony led by our Mayor Gary Manier. This special event is sponsored by the Washington Citizens Police Academy alumni and the Washington High School Cheerleading Squad.

Let us stand together united as the great city we are, so we never forget the tragedy that changed our country and so many families forever.

Please come out and support this special event.
