EUREKA — Charles M. Schrock, 93, of Eureka, formerly of Washington, died at 12:45 p.m. Saturday, Aug. 20, 2011, at 12:45 p.m. at Advocate Eureka Hospital. 


 

EUREKA — Charles M. Schrock, 93, of Eureka, formerly of Washington, died at 12:45 p.m. Saturday, Aug. 20, 2011, at 12:45 p.m. at Advocate Eureka Hospital. 

He was born Nov. 13, 1917, in Deer Creek to Charles Edward and Allie Schunemann Schrock. 

On June 9, 1946, he married Myrtle Eileen Marshall in Peoria. She preceded him in death on Sept. 25, 2009, in Eureka. 

Also preceding him in death were two brothers and two sisters. 

Charles is survived by his daughter, Peggy Schrock of Almo, Kent., and his son Charles “Bud” (Kathy) Schrock of Wheaton. He is also survived by two grandsons, two sisters Iona (Carl) Schaidle of Metamora and Bernadine (Don) Anderson of Roscoe and one brother Vernon (Donna) Schrock of Byron. 

Charles served his country during World War II as an Army combat engineer. 

He was employed by Caterpillar Tractor Co. in East Peoria for seven years. He later farmed for 18 years in northern Illinois. 

He retired from Ragan Auto Supply in Sunnyland after 16 years of employment. A funeral service will be held at 11 a.m. Wednesday. The Rev. John N. Bates will officiate. 

Visitation will be one hour prior to the service at the church. Burial will be in Lakeside Cemetery in Pekin. 

Deiters Funeral Home and Crematory in Washington will be handling arrangements. Memorials may be made to St. Mark’s Lutheran Church or to Maple Lawn Homes.
