WASHINGTON — Lola V. Buchanan, 83, of 1150 New Castle Road, passed away at 2:30 a.m. Wednesday, April 27, 2011, at Washington Christian Village. 


 

WASHINGTON — Lola V. Buchanan, 83, of 1150 New Castle Road, passed away at 2:30 a.m. Wednesday, April 27, 2011, at Washington Christian Village. 

Born June 4, 1927, in Flora, she was preceded in death by her husband, Earl Nelson Buchanan; one son, Lloyd Max Buchanan; one daughter, Genell Kay Buchanan and nine brothers and sisters.

 She is survived by three sons, Steven M. Buchanan, Gene R. “Bud” (Debbie) Buchanan of Washington and David E. (Lura) Buchanan; eight grandchildren and many great-grandchildren.

 She formerly worked for Illinois Bell in Centralia, Tazewell Publishing in Morton and as a nurse’s aide at Pekin Hospital. 

She loved to read and play the piano. She also served as the organist for the Creve Coeur Wesleyan Church for 20 years.

 A private family graveside service will be in Lakeview Cemetery in Pekin. No visitation is planned. Arrangements are by Preston-Hanley Funeral Homes & Crematory in Pekin.
