The Washington girls track and field team fell April 12 to powerhouse Metamora.

The Lady Panthers’ six victories in a 94-54 Mid-Illini Conference road loss were divided between the track and the field.

Alyssa Johnson, Courtney Spurgeon, Haley Willis and Danielle Williams of Washington clocked a 10:23.4 to win the 4x800 relay.

Lady Panther Julia Williams registered a 12:11.2 to take the crown in the 3200 run.

Willis was on track to take the 800 in a time of 2:34.1.

Lindsey Watson paced the Washington field effort with a high jump of 4-feet-10-inches and a discus fling of 95-5.

Lady Panther Ann Chapman topped all participants with a 31-5 in the triple jump.

Boys track
In a co-ed meet April 12, the Washington boys also fell to Metamora.

Panther Brandon Bertlesen was the high jump winner with a 5-6, while Brent Brown captured the long jump with a mark of 19-6.

On the track, Jordan Broadstone kept the Redbirds from a sweep with a :23.7 in the 200 dash.

Metamora won every relay at home in a 109-37 final.
