Saturday was the annual Washington Community High School Football Hog Roast sponsored by the 12th Man Organization.
This event featured scrimmages by the freshmen, sophomore and varsity football teams in front of a crowd of family and friends. The day began with a Junior Football League Skills Camp where 100 players ran through drills and obstacle courses while being assisted by the WCHS varsity football players and coaches.
The event concluded with a delicious meal, compliments of the 12th Man Organization.
This annual event is a success because of all the volunteers who help prepare and work at the event. We would like to thank our many volunteers, family and friends who helped and attended.
An additional thanks goes to Tom and Karen Schrock for their donation of the hogs and to Brian Bell, our master chef, for roasting more than 300 pounds of meat.
Friday is Inside Panther Night at the high school. All fall teams will demonstrate their skills for family, friends and the community. A dinner will be provided by the 12th Man Organization.  Please see a football player to purchase your meal ticket before they are gone!
We look forward to seeing you this season at Babcook Field as we cheer on the WCHS football teams!
