Streator thwarted a late Washington boys soccer push Oct. 21.

The No. 2 seed Bulldogs advanced in their own Class 2A regional with a 2-1 victory over the Panthers.

Washington (8-12-2) was shut out until the 65th minute when Tony Ramadani added to a prolific season with a goal that got the No. 3 seed team within one.

Streator held on to advance to the regional final.

Despite the loss, the Panthers’ record improved by six wins this fall under second-year head coach Jeff Brooks.
