The Washington Community High School Marching Panthers earned four awards at Saturday’s University of Illinois’ Illini Marching Band Festival.


The Washington Community High School Marching Panthers earned four awards at Saturday’s University of Illinois’ Illini Marching Band Festival. The band received third place (of 22 bands) in the Class A field competition. Additionally, the band received three Class A caption awards: first place parade percussion, second place field percussion and third place field drum majors. This wraps up one of the Marching Panther’s most successful seasons ever, having earned two first-place awards at local competitions (Pontiac and Metamora) and a season-ending third-place award at the Illinois statewide competition.
