The Washington Community High School Student Council will offer a Halloween treat for local children.

The 2008 Boo Bash is a fun, safe candy gathering complete with games, stories and costumes, Beth Cassulo said.

Students will decorate the halls on the first floor of the school. They will also dress up and pass out candy.

“Last year’s was a great success,” Cassulo said, adding the idea came from other Mid-Illini schools.

In addition to trick-or-treating, science club members will do experiments, and drama club members will tell scary stories.

Participants will also be able to decorate their own cookies.

Boo Bash will be from 6 to 9 p.m. in the high school.

Games and fun activities will be set up in the West Gym, and candy will be available throughout the school.

Children and their parents are asked to enter through the Jefferson Street doors. The Boo Bash is open to all kids in fourth grade and younger.
