Washington’s girls soccer season came to a close May 14 with a loss to an old rival.

The Lady Panthers fell to Metamora, 6-0, in the semifinals of the host Redbirds’ Class AA regional.

Jessica Auer and Raechel Overly both took turns as goalkeepers, but they could not prevent the team’s third loss of the season to Metamora.

Washington (2-12-3) trailed 2-0 at halftime before the Redbirds scored four times in the second half.

Metamora got off 27 shots compared to five for the Lady Panthers. The Lady Panthers keeper tandem combined for 21 saves.
